Cool Kids Cook® is a faith-based organization on a mission to bring America’s best cooking to America’s best kids. We believe that the kitchen is more than a place to prepare food—it’s where confidence grows, creativity flourishes, and healthy habits take root.
Founded with a simple but powerful goal—to get kids back into the kitchen—Cool Kids Cook offers hands-on cooking classes for elementary and middle school children, with a focus on health, safety, and community. Our after-school programs are designed to teach kids the fundamentals of cooking, while also encouraging families to gather back around the dinner table.
Our approach is rooted in faith, family, and a belief in the potential of every child. We take inspiration from Jane Goodall’s wise words: “You may not change the world on your own, but you would be amazed at what inspired children can do.” We’ve seen firsthand how teaching kids to cook not only equips them with life skills—it inspires leadership, connection, and purpose.
Every year, 3.8 million new children are born in the U.S.—that’s 3.8 million opportunities to spark a love for cooking, health, and community. While the rise of celebrity chefs and food TV has made cooking “cool” again, we believe there’s still room (and need) for local, hands-on programs that make a lasting impact.
As one of our young chefs, Stephanie D. from Birmingham, put it:
We’re developing exciting initiatives like our Cool Kids Cook® Farm-to-School and Farm-to-Family programs—bringing locally grown foods into schools, churches, and homes, while teaching children the value of nutrition and agriculture.
Whether your child dreams of being a chef, wants to eat healthier, or simply wants to learn something fun and useful, Cool Kids Cook is here to serve. Together, we’re building stronger kids, stronger families, and a stronger future—one meal at a time.
